Ingredients

  • 5 to 6 c. flour (save some for rolling, 1/2 c.)
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. instant yeast
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2 c. warm water

Directions

    Put all together and mix dough until dough comes away from side of bowl.

    Do in mixer.

    Let rise until double in size.

    Roll out and cut into rolls.

    Let rise again until almost double in size.

    If bubbles form, it was too long.

    Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes.

    Brush with melted butter when removed from oven.
