- 1 c. scalded milk
- 1/2 c. shortening or oil
- 1/4 c. (scant) sugar
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1/3 c. warm water
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 3 c. sifted flour
- 1 tsp. salt
Directions

1Scald milk.

2Add shortening (or oil), beaten egg, sugar and salt to scalded milk.

3Dissolve dry yeast in warm water.

4Add water and yeast mixture to the liquid milk mixture.

5Sift and measure flour, adding liquid mixtures.

6Mix well.

7Cover with warm cloth and let stand 10 to 30 minutes.

8Knead dough down, adding more flour, if needed.

9Cover again and let rise 30 to 45 minutes. Knead dough down again, roll out and cut out rolls with cutter. Place in greased or Pam pan and let rise for 30 to 45 minutes. Bake at 375° for approximately 30 minutes or until golden brown.
