Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yeast (make sure it is fresh)
  • 3 Tbsp. water
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 4 c. plain flour
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 2 eggs

Directions

    In saucepan, add shortening, salt and 1 cup hot water.

    Bring to a small boil just until Crisco melts.

    Remove from heat and cool until lukewarm.

    Dissolve yeast in 3 tablespoons water.

    Beat eggs, add 1/4 cup sugar to beaten eggs, add alternately with flour and shortening mixture, also yeast at this time.

    Place in greased bowl, turning to coat all sides.

    Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.
