Ingredients
- 2 c. scalded milk
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 5 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 2 c. warm water
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 12 to 14 c. flour
Directions

1Scald milk, cool to lukewarm.

2In small bowl dissolve yeast and 3 teaspoons sugar with 1/2 cup water.

3In large bowl add milk, sugar, salt, shortening, water and yeast.

4Then add flour and mix well.

5Place on floured pastry board and knead.

6Place into greased container until double in size.

7Divide dough in 2 parts.

8Press or roll to 1/2 to 3/4-inch thick.

9Cut with 2 1/2-inch cutter.

10Shape round balls and place onto well-greased pans.

11Cover with cloth when double in size.
-
12Bake in 400° oven 20 to 25 minutes.
