  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 c. lukewarm water
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening, melted and cooled
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 1/4 c. flour

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in water and add sugar, shortening, salt and 1 cup flour.

    Beat at medium speed. Add remaining flour. If sticky, add a little more flour.

    Let rise.

    Knead and let rise again. Make into rolls and let rise again. Bake at 400° for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.

    Makes 20 to 24 rolls.
