Ingredients
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. lukewarm water
- 2 c. hot (very hot) water
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 5 Tbsp. Crisco
- 2 eggs, mixed well
- 4 to 5 c. flour (sometimes more)
Directions

1Sprinkle yeast over 1/4 cup lukewarm water; let stand for a few minutes.

2Pour the hot water over the sugar, salt and Crisco; let stand after mixing until lukewarm.

3Add the beaten eggs, then the yeast.

4Add the flour, a cup at a time, until you have a batter thick enough to knead.

5Knead for about 5 minutes.

6Put in a large bowl and let rise 1 1/2 hours or until double in size. Cover the bowl with dish towel.

7Work down; shape into rolls or 3 loaves of

8bread.

9Cover and let rise about 1 to 2 hours.

10Bake at 375° for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

11Brush with butter.
