- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 c. Crisco shortening
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 c. boiling water
- 2 eggs
- 6 1/2 c. self-rising flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water.

2Add 1 tablespoon sugar taken from the 1/2 cup sugar; set aside.

3Place shortening and remaining sugar in a large mixing bowl.

4Add 2 cups boiling water. Mix well and cool to lukewarm.

5Beat in eggs and yeast.

6Stir in 1 1/2 cups of the flour to make a soft dough; gradually add remaining flour.

7Cover bowl with plastic wrap and put a plate over the wrap.

8Refrigerate 2 hours.

9Push down, then refrigerate overnight.

10Push down again in the morning.

11Roll and cut into fold-over rolls.

12Brush with melted butter.

13Let rise until double in size.

14Bake in hot oven.
