- 1 cake yeast
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. milk
- 1/2 c. lukewarm water
- 1 egg
- 5 c. sifted flour
Directions

1Scald milk, add sugar and salt and let cool.

2Add yeast to warm water and dissolve.

3Add this to milk mixture and add 1/2 of the flour and beat until smooth.

4Add egg, shortening and remaining flour.

5Knead on floured board.

6Bake in cupcake pan.

7Pinch off pieces to fill 1/2 of cups, let rise until full.

8Bake at 425° until brown.
