- 1/2 c. sweet milk
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cake or 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 2 1/2 c. self-rising flour
Directions

1Add beaten egg to milk.

2Dissolve yeast and warm water.

3Add to egg mixture.

4Cut shortening into flour.

5Mix flour and egg mixture.

6Knead and roll dough to about 1-inch thickness.

7Cut with cutter.

8Brush tops with butter or margarine.

9Place on greased cookie sheet and cover with towel.

10Let rise 2 hours. Bake at 400° for 15 minutes in preheated oven.
