- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 egg
- 3/4 c. milk, scalded
- 1/4 c. shortening or oil
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
Directions

1Soften yeast in warm water (110°).

2After approximately 10 minutes add 1 egg and let set while mixing milk, shortening sugar and salt.

3Cool to lukewarm.

4Add 1 cup flour; beat well.

5Beat in yeast and egg mixture.

6Add remaining flour.

7Place in greased large bowl; cover.

8Place in refrigerator 2 hours or even overnight.
