- 1/2 lb. butter
- 2 1/2 c. sugar
- 8 eggs
- 4 c. sifted plain flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. lemon flavoring
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Cream butter.

2Add sugar, one cup at a time and cream well. Add eggs, two at a time, creaming well.

3Sift together flour, baking powder and salt, then add to batter, mixing well.

4Add lemon and vanilla.

5Pour batter into a tube cake pan.

6Bake in preheated oven 40 minutes at 275°.

7Then turn heat to 300° and bake 50 to 60 minutes longer.
