- 1/2 c. Ricotta cheese

1Blend yogurt and cheese as base for dips; season with garlic and onion.

2Use plain yogurt instead of milk or cream in mashed potatoes or pasta dishes.

3Use vanilla yogurt instead of milk with instant pudding mixes for calcium-rich, creamy dessert.

4Replace the sour cream in many cakes, muffins and quick breads with plain or vanilla yogurt.

5Add 1 teaspoon baking soda to dry ingredients (in addition to other leavening ingredients called for in recipe). Blend 1 teaspoon Dijon style mustard with 1 cup plain yogurt and salt, pepper and/or herbs, to taste, to replace mayo in tuna or chicken salad.
