  • 1/2 c. Ricotta cheese

    Blend yogurt and cheese as base for dips; season with garlic and onion.

    Use plain yogurt instead of milk or cream in mashed potatoes or pasta dishes.

    Use vanilla yogurt instead of milk with instant pudding mixes for calcium-rich, creamy dessert.

    Replace the sour cream in many cakes, muffins and quick breads with plain or vanilla yogurt.

    Add 1 teaspoon baking soda to dry ingredients (in addition to other leavening ingredients called for in recipe). Blend 1 teaspoon Dijon style mustard with 1 cup plain yogurt and salt, pepper and/or herbs, to taste, to replace mayo in tuna or chicken salad.
