- 2 c. sifted flour
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. oil
- 7 unbeaten egg yolks
- 3/4 c. cold water
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 c. egg whites (7 to 8)
Directions

1Sift first 4 ingredients together into mixing bowl.

2Make a well and add oil, egg yolks, water and vanilla.

3Beat until smooth with a spoon.

4Add cream of tartar to egg whites in a large mixing bowl.

5Beat with mixer until whites form very stiff peaks. Do not underbeat.

6Pour egg yolk mixture gradually over beaten egg whites.

7Gently fold just until blended; do not stir.
