- 2 c. sifted flour (all-purpose)
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. Wesson oil
- 7 unbeaten egg yolks
- 3/4 c. cold water
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. egg whites (7 or 8)
- 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
Directions

1Sift together first four ingredients.

2Make a well and add the oil, egg yolks, water and vanilla.

3Beat until smooth.

4Add cream of tartar to egg whites in large bowl.

5Beat until whites form stiff peaks.

6Do not underbeat.

7Gently fold egg whites into the batter.

8Bake at 350°.
