- 2 cakes yeast
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 3 c. milk
- 1/4 lb. butter
- 12 Tbsp. sugar
- 8 c. flour
- 4 eggs
- 1 Tbsp. cardamon
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- raisins to taste
- citron to taste
Directions

1Break up yeast and cover with 4 tablespoon sugar.

2This will liquefy and will take a little while.

3Heat milk and add butter and 12 tablespoons sugar.

4When butter and sugar are melted, add yeast and 4 cups of flour.

5Beat well until bubbles form on top.

6Then add eggs, cardamon, salt and gradually about 4 cups flour.

7Let rest on board for 15 minutes.

8Knead lightly and put into greased bowl to rise to twice in bulk.

9Take from bowl, shape into loaves, add raisins and citron to taste.

10Let stand until twice in bulk and bake.
