Ingredients
- 1 medium onion, minced
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 1 (12 oz.) bottle chili sauce
- 1/2 c. cider vinegar
- 2 tsp. crushed rosemary or oregano
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 large clove garlic, minced (optional)
- 1 c. dry red or white wine
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. each: Worcestershire sauce and hot pepper sauce
Directions

1In small saucepan, saute onion and garlic in oil until tender. Stir in remaining ingredients.

2Simmer, uncovered, stirring often until slightly thickened.

3Turn into hot, sterilized wide-mouth bottles or jars; cover tightly.

4Use as basting sauce for pork or beef.

5Keeps refrigerated up to 4 weeks.

6Makes 2 1/2 cups.
