  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 3/4 c. milk

    Cream shortening, sugar and vanilla.

    Continue to cream until light and fluffy.

    Add eggs and beat until well blended. Add flour

    mixture and milk alternately, beginning and ending with flour,

    beating after each addition.

    Bake at 350° until done. Makes 2 layers.
