- 8 slices white bread (French bread can be used)
- 1 lb. Longhorn cheese, grated
- 8 eggs
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 3 c. milk
- 3/4 tsp. dry mustard
- dash of cayenne pepper
- green onions (optional)
- fresh mushrooms (optional)
Directions

1Butter bread and cut into cubes.

2Place in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

3Sprinkle grated cheese over bread cubes.

4Top with layer of green onions and mushrooms.

5Beat eggs, milk and spices together and pour over.

6Refrigerate overnight.

7Bake, covered, for 1 hour, uncover to brown, about 5 minutes.
