- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 4 Tbsp. butter or shortening
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 cakes yeast
- 1/4 c. lukewarm water
- all-purpose flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water.

2Scald milk.

3Add shortening, sugar and

4salt and cool to lukewarm.

5Add yeast to mixture and enough flour for a soft dough. Knead a little.

6Let rise until double in bulk.

7Turn out on a floured board and pat out with hands.

8Cut as for biscuits.

9Fold in half with a pat of butter between fold.

10Fold in half and pinch sides together.

11Let rise until double and bake at 400°

12for 20 minutes.
