  • 3/4 lb. (3 sticks) butter or margarine, at room temperature
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 c. sifted flour
  • 3/4 c. warm 7-Up (not diet)
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon extract

Directions

    Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.

    Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

    Gradually mix in flour and 7-Up. Stir in lemon extract.

    Pour into a greased 10-inch tube pan. Bake in a preheated 325° oven until wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 hours.
