- 4 boned chicken breasts
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 (16 oz.) can red tart cherries
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp. almond flavoring
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. almonds
- oil (for sauteing)
- buttermilk for dipping
Directions

1Dip chicken in buttermilk, then in salted flour.

2Saute in hot oil until browned on both sides.

3Let chicken drain on paper towels.

4Drain oil from skillet; add sugar and cornstarch to skillet.

5With wire whisk, stir in cherry juice and almond flavoring.

6Cook until thickened.

7Place chicken in greased baking dish; pour cherry sauce over chicken.

8Sprinkle with almonds and bake in a 400° oven for 10 to 15 minutes.
