- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. white sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 3/4 c. butter
- 1/2 c. chopped almonds
Directions

1Mix all but flour, baking soda and almonds together well, then incorporate the dry ingredients into the first mixture.

2Batter will be very stiff.

3Roll into 2 long rolls, about 1 1/2 inches in diameter.

4Wrap in wax paper.

5Chill in refrigerator overnight. Slice 3/4-inch thick slices; place on a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes at 350°.
