  • 3/4 c. butter or margarine, softened
  • 3/4 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 3/4 c. raspberry jam
  • 3 egg whites
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. shredded coconut
  • 1 c. blanched almonds, slivered

Directions

    Cream butter or margarine and powdered sugar.

    Add flour, mixing well, and press into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly brown.

    Spread jam over hot layer.

    Beat egg whites until foamy.

    Gradually add sugar, beating until stiff.

    Fold in coconut.
