  • 1 1/2 c. toasted almonds, chopped
  • 2 1/3 c. almonds (not toasted), chopped
  • 1 lb. butter
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Directions

    In a heavy saucepan, melt butter.

    Add sugar and chopped, untoasted almonds.

    Stir mixture occasionally with a wooden spoon over medium to medium-low heat.

    Cook until candy thermometer reads 280°.

    Quickly remove from heat.

    Pour into ungreased jelly roll pan and spread out evenly with knife.

    While still hot, sprinkle chocolate chips, wait a bit and spread when melted. Sprinkle toasted almonds over top.

    Let cool several hours.

    Break into small pieces.
