Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 c. flour
  • 3 Tbsp. cream (sour preferred)
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 c. toasted, chopped almonds
  • 1/8 tsp. salt

Directions

    Cream sugar and butter.

    Add slightly beaten eggs, cream and chopped nuts.

    Sift flour with baking powder, soda and salt; add to mixture.

    Chill.

    Roll into 4 long narrow rows 17 inches long. Place on buttered 17 x 11-inch pan.

    Brush with slightly beaten egg whites and sprinkle generously with pearl sugar.

    Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.

    Slice and dry quickly in 350° oven on both sides.
