Ingredients

  • 1 loaf bread, diced and toasted
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 medium onion, chopped fine
  • 3 1/2 or 4 c. milk as needed
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. sage
  • 1/2 tsp. thyme
  • 3/4 c. diced potatoes, cooked or grated (raw)
  • 2 c. diced, cooked chicken
  • 1/2 c. shredded or diced, cooked carrots
  • 3 stems celery, chopped fine

Directions

    Put eggs in bowl and beat.

    Add salt, pepper, sage and thyme; mix.

    Add 2 cups milk, onion, celery, potatoes, chicken and carrots.

    Add bread and enough milk to moisten well.

    Substitute 1 cup chicken broth instead of milk to give a good flavor.

    Bake in a well-greased casserole at 350°.
