Ingredients

  • 1 c. dates, cut fine
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 1 Tbsp. butter or oleo, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. instant vanilla pudding
  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. butterscotch pudding
  • 1 (8 oz.) carton Cool Whip, thawed

Directions

    Mix dates, soda and warm water and let stand while mixing the following.

    Mix together butter, egg, nuts, sugar and flour with above.

    Bake in a greased and floured 9-inch pan at 350° for 35 minutes.

    Make pudding according to package and fold in Cool Whip. Crumble cool cake and place a layer of cake in a large bowl.

    Add a layer of pudding.

    Repeat until all is used.

    Better if sets overnight.

    Serves: 10 to 15.
