- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 5 1/2 to 5 3/4 c. flour
- 1/2 c. cornmeal
- 2 c. boiling water
- 1/2 c. dark molasses
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 2 eggs
Directions

1In large bowl, combine yeast and 3 cups flour.

2Gradually stir cornmeal into boiling water.

3Add molasses, shortening and salt. Cool to lukewarm.

4Add to flour/yeast mixture.

5Add eggs.

6Beat at low speed for 1/2 minute, scraping bowl constantly.

7Beat 3 minutes at high speed.

8By hand, stir in enough remaining flour to make a soft dough.
