- 2 c. buttermilk
- 1 c. shortening
- 5 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
Directions

1In a saucepan, combine buttermilk and shortening.

2Heat until shortening melts.

3Cool to lukewarm. Set aside.

4In a bowl, combine all dry ingredients, except yeast.

5Dissolve yeast in water. Stir into buttermilk. Add to dry ingredients.

6Mix well (it will be sticky).

7Roll out and cut with cutter.

8Let rise for 1 hour or after mixing all ingredients, you can refrigerate (for 5 days) until ready to use.
