Ingredients
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup water and set aside.

2Mix dry ingredients in order given, cutting in shortening as you normally would for biscuits.

3Stir in buttermilk.

4Also water with yeast in it.

5Blend thoroughly and the dough is ready to be refrigerated in large bowl or made into biscuits.

6When ready to work dough, turn onto a floured board and knead lightly as for regular biscuits. Roll out, cut and place on greased pan.

7Let rise slightly if cold.

8Bake at 400°.

9Dough can be refrigerated up to 3 days.
