- 2 Tbsp. lukewarm water
- 2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. soda
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 3/4 c. buttermilk

5Sift together all dry ingredients.

6Cut in shortening until it is coarse crumbs. Add buttermilk and yeast water.

7Stir quickly with fork until soft dough is formed.

8Turn out on lightly floured surface and knead 10 to 12 times.

9Roll out 1/2-inch thick; cut.

10Bake at 450° for 10 to 12 minutes.
