- 5 c. unsifted flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 pkg. dry granular yeast
- 2 Tbsp. warm water
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, soda and salt.

2Cut in shortening.

3Dissolve yeast in warm water and add to flour mixture along with buttermilk.

4Mix well; turn out on lightly floured board.

5If necessary, add additional flour to make soft dough.

6Roll out 1/4-inch thick.

7Dip in melted butter and fold over to make pocket-book rolls.

8Bake at 400° for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.

9Store unused dough in plastic bowl in refrigerator.

10Use within a week.
