- 5 c. unsifted self-rising flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 c. Crisco
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 4 Tbsp. warm water
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Stir shortening into flour and sugar.

2Dissolve yeast in warm water.

3Add buttermilk to this, then add to flour mixture.

4Mix well.

5Turn out on floured sheet.

6Roll to 1/4-inch biscuits. Reserve remainder in refrigerator for next day.

7Bake at 400° for 15 minutes.
