- 6 c. self-rising flour
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 c. shortening
- 1/4 c. lukewarm water
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Sift together the dry ingredients.

3Put yeast into 1/4 cup of warm water, stir, then let stand.

4Cut shortening into dry ingredients.

5Add yeast and buttermilk.

6Stir well.

7Pour onto floured board.

8Knead.

9Roll out and cut into biscuits.
