- 2 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1/3 c. warm water
- 2/3 c. Crisco
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 5 c. self-rising flour
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water; add sugar.

2Cut shortening into flour; add yeast mixture and buttermilk and stir to form a soft dough.

3On a floured board, knead a few times and roll out 1/2-inch thick.

4Cut and place on greased pan.

5Let rise 1 hour and bake at 400° for 10 to 15 minutes, until nicely browned. Yield:
