- 5 c. plain flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. Crisco
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 2 Tbsp. warm water
- 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Cut shortening into dry ingredients.

3Add yeast and buttermilk and knead until well blended.

4Roll and cut like biscuits.

5Dip in melted butter and fold.

6Let rise until double in size, about 1 hour.

7Bake at 450° for 15 to 20 minutes.

8Dough may be stored in refrigerator for days.
