- 1 pkg. yeast
- 2 1/2 c. unsifted flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
Directions

1Sift the dry ingredients together.

2Cut in shortening. Dissolve yeast in warm water and add with milk to dry ingredients; mix well.

3Turn out on lightly floured board; add more flour as needed and roll to 1/4-inch thickness.

4Cut, then dip in melted butter and fold to make pocket book rolls or stack several together.

5Place on well-greased pan.

6Bake at 400° for 15 minutes.
