- 5 c. flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 cake or pkg. yeast
- 1/2 c. lukewarm water
- 3/4 c. vegetable shortening
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Sift together several times the first 5 ingredients.

2Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.

3Cut the vegetable shortening into dry ingredients.

4Add buttermilk and water/yeast mixture.

5Work together until all flour is moistened.

6Cover and refrigerate. Use as needed.

7Will keep for a week or longer.
