- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/2 c. lukewarm water
- 5 c. flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 c. Crisco
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in water and set aside.

2Mix dry ingredients and cut in Crisco.

3Stir in buttermilk and yeast mixture.

4Blend well.

5Dough is ready to be refrigerated or made into biscuits. Turn dough onto floured counter and knead lightly.

6Roll out and cut with biscuit cutter.

7Place in greased pan.

8Let rise slightly.

9Bake at 400° for 15 minutes, until lightly browned.
