- 3 lb. chuck roast
- 1 medium onion
- 1/2 c. chopped celery
- 2 medium garlic, minced
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. catsup
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 1/4 c. vinegar
- 2 tsp. dry mustard
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. red pepper
- 2 medium bay leaves
- 1/2 tsp. paprika
- 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
- 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
Directions

1Put beef, onion and celery into pot; add water to cover and cook until tender.

2Cook and shred.

3Refrigerate broth until fat rises to top.

4Remove fat; add 3 cups of broth to other ingredients.

5Simmer mixture, uncovered, for 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours over low heat with the meat.
