  • 5 c. flour
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast

Directions

    Sift all dry ingredients together.

    Cut in shortening. Dissolve dry yeast (or 1 cake) in 2 tablespoons warm water.

    Add 2 cups buttermilk.

    Mix together.

    Roll dough out thin and cut with biscuit cutter.

    Fold over and bake about 15 minutes in 400° oven. Will keep several days in icebox.
