- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 3 Tbsp. warm water
- 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Mix dry ingredients and cut in butter until very fine.

3Stir in yeast mixture and enough buttermilk to make a soft dough.

4Turn out on a floured board and knead a few times for a smooth dough.

5Roll dough 1/2-inch thick and use cutter of your choice.

6Place on greased cookie sheet.

7Cook in preheated oven at 400° for about 15 minutes.

8Makes about 2 dozen.
