- 5 c. self-rising flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/4 c. lukewarm water
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Combine flour, soda and sugar.

2Cut in shortening.

3Add yeast mixture and buttermilk.

4Mix with spoon or hands until dough is formed.

5May be made into biscuits immediately.

6May be kept in refrigerator as long as 2 weeks.

7Pinch off as needed and make into biscuits.

8Bake 15 minutes at 375°.

9Makes 3 to 4 dozen.
