- 1 pkg. yeast (3/5 oz.)
- 1/4 c. water
- 3 c. unsifted flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 c. butter or oleo
- 3/4 c. milk
Directions

1Soften yeast in water.

2In a medium bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar and baking powder.

3With a pastry blender or 2 knives, cut butter into flour mixture.

4Add yeast mixture and milk.

5Stir until well combined.

6Cover; set aside for 30 minutes.

7Roll or pat dough out to 1/2-inch thickness.

8Cut into rounds with 3-inch cutter.

9Place biscuits on lightly oiled baking sheet.

10Prick tops with fork.

11Set aside for 45 minutes.

12Heat oven to 375°.

13Bake biscuits until golden and firm on top, 15 to 18 minutes.
