  • 5 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 4 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 4 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1/4 c. warm water
  • 2 c. buttermilk

    Dissolve yeast in warm water.

    Sift dry ingredients.

    Add yeast and milk to dry ingredients.

    Knead on a floured board.

    Roll out and cut.

    Allow to rise 10 minutes.

    Bake at 400°.

    Cut biscuits may be frozen.

    Place frozen biscuits in oven and turn to 400°. Biscuits will thaw oven heats.
