- 5 c. self-rising flour, sifted
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1 c. Crisco
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 2 pkg. yeast
Directions

1Mix as you would for biscuit dough, cutting shortening into flour, sugar, soda, salt, and baking powder, adding buttermilk and yeast last.

2Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water.

3Place in refrigerator for cooling so that dough will be easier to handle. When you prepare the dough, you will find that you will have to add a lot of flour (dough is sticky).

4Cut biscuits and dip or brush with melted butter.

5Fold biscuits over and place in pan.

6Bake in hot oven (400° or 425°).

7Store unused dough in refrigerator.
