- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 5 c. flour
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
Directions

1Combine yeast and water; set aside.

2Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and roll out on floured surface; cut as biscuits. Allow to rise in a warm dark place.

3Bake at 450° until golden. May be kept in refrigerator for up to a week.
