  • 5 c. self-rising flour
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 2 Tbsp. warm water
  • 2 c. buttermilk

Directions

    Mix flour and sugar.

    Cut in shortening.

    Dissolve yeast in warm water and add to buttermilk, then add to flour mixture. Knead.

    Make into biscuits.

    Bake for 15 minutes at 400° to 425°. Store dough in refrigerator.
