- 3/4 c. shortening
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 pkg. powdered yeast or 1 cake
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Sift dry ingredients together; cut in the shortening.

2Add buttermilk and the yeast, dissolved in water.

3Mix with a spoon until all flour is moist.

4Cover the bowl and put in refrigerator until ready to use.

5Can also be used right away.

6The dough will keep several weeks in refrigerator.
