- 2 egg whites
- 1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. finely chopped pecans (walnuts)
- 1 (4 oz.) bar Baker's German's sweet chocolate
- 3 Tbsp. water
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. whipping cream
Directions

1Beat egg whites with salt and cream of tartar until foamy. Add sugar, 2 tablespoons at a time, beating well after each addition, then continue beating to very stiff peaks.

2Fold in vanilla and nuts.

3Spoon into lightly greased 8-inch pie plate to form nestlike shell.

4Build sides up 1/2-inch above edge of pan. Bake in slow oven (300°) for 50 to 55 minutes.

5Cool.

6Stir chocolate in the water over low heat until melted.

7Cool until thickened.

8Add 1 teaspoon vanilla.

9Whip cream; fold into chocolate mixture.

10Pile into shell.

11Chill 2 hours.
